Line Level

Almost every source component (except phono cartridges) gives an output in the region of 1-2 volts; this is known as 'line level'. Amplifier inputs labelled 'CD', 'aux', 'tuner' or 'tape' are all designed for this input level, whilst record players may need a separate 'phono stage'.
