S-Video

A high-quality video transmission standard that uses a 4 pin mini-DIN connector to send video information over two signal wires called luminance (brightness, Y) and chrominance (colour, C).

S-Video can be used to connect a range of equipment (for example, DVD players or camcorders) and produces a video signal that is better quality than a composite connection, but not as good as a component connection. The change in signal quality is quite noticeable between composite and S-Video.
