Widescreen
A term that is used to describe a 16:9 screen ratio - the format that is used in the vast majority of contemporary TV programming and film making. This means that movies can be watched in their native format without 'letterboxing'.
Widescreen TVs are available in Plasma, LCD and CRT varieties, with a screen size of as small as 15", right up to 100" or more, depending on the technology used.
